Macclesfield is home to some of the most spectacular events and festivals in Cheshire. One of the newest to establish itself is Classic Ibiza. The first concert held last year attracted thousands of visitors to the picturesque grounds of Capesthorne Hall and returns once again for 2019 on Saturday 29th June.
Rain or shine the event is not to be missed as the unique fusion of classic dance music recreated by a 32-piece orchestra, DJ, powerful vocalists and laser and light show is just breathtaking.
Just hearing the title of this spectacular event conjures up memories of heady days in the Balearics feeling sun on my skin and hauntingly hypnotic anthems floating across sunset strip. The music is so uplifting and evokes happy, carefree times. I was lucky enough to attend the first concert last year and the atmosphere was incredible. The event is very family friendly as well as a real treat for music lovers, it was great to see everyone smiling, dancing and singing along getting and thoroughly enjoying themselves.
The venue location is perfect as it’s very accessible, has ample free parking and you’re welcome to take food and drink for a picnic, camping chairs and a few spare umbrellas, just in case! There will also be a tempting selection of food stalls and a bar serving refreshing drinks, including Cocktails, Prosecco and not forgetting San Miguel, the official sponsor of the concert!
I’m over the moon that Classic Ibiza is returning to Capesthorne Hall this year. It’s a time to let your hair down and get lost in the music! This event is Cheshire’s biggest dance party of the Summer. There’s a chill out set to ease you into the laid-back Ibiza vibe, lots of floor-filling anthems and later in the evening as the sun sets, you’ll be able to reach for the lasers as classic dance tunes are brought to orchestral life to a stunning backdrop of stage lighting and lasers lighting up Capesthorne Hall, a perfect mix for an evening to remember.
Returning this year are The Urban Soul Orchestra conducted by Stephen Hussey who says “Classic Ibiza is a heady mix of iconic dance tunes, a classical orchestra and a music festival in a stunning setting. Whether you want to sit back and relax with a glass of bubbly over a picnic in the evening sun, or get up and dance the night away, everyone is guaranteed a great time.”
DJ Goldierocks (AKA Sam Povey Hall) explains “Classic Ibiza is epic. An overwhelming sensory experience, because it’s me and the vast and powerful 32-piece Urban Soul Orchestra. It’s so much fun performing with that wall of sound behind you, those iconic tracks that bring back nostalgia and euphoric moments. One of the best shows I’ve ever done. I can’t wait.”
Vocalist Max who has been with Classic Ibiza from the start will be joining the Urban Soul orchestra on stage and has this to say about last year’s event: “Classic Ibiza last year was a vibe. On one of the shows, the rain was intense but the will of the people was intenser. People still showed up in abundance to party and that energy mixed with waterproof ponchos made us give the event more. The love and energy you bring are always reflected so thank you!”
Also with classic Ibiza from the beginning, Singer Jina will be performing and says “Children, parents and grandparents together enjoying a taste of the orchestral sounds of Ibiza classics at their own outdoor festival in beautiful UK locations. The seamless transition from a calm sunset accompanied by chilled Ibiza tunes to a spectacular laser display lighting the night sky always amazes me as does the mass crowd jumping as far as the eye can see to Urban Soul Orchestra’s renditions of the most popular dance anthems of our time.”
Fola with her distinctive huge smile will also be performing and says “Singing at Classic Ibiza is like revisiting old friends. The songs hold so many memories and are such a pleasure to sing and even better to share with an intergenerational audience.”
Classic Ibiza at Capesthorne Hall is one of 7 events being held across the UK in 2019. Tickets are still available and can be purchased from the official website along with more information about the performers. You can also join them on Facebook to see some fabulous pictures and video from last year’s event.
