If you’re looking for a fantastic family and child-friendly event this Summer, Macclesfield Festival has it all. This festival is normally held on the first weekend of the Summer holidays at Macclesfield Rugby Union Football Club. This year the events falls on Saturday 20th July from 10am to 10pm. It’s a fabulous fun day out and offers so much entertainment for all the family and grown-ups too!
The festival is celebrating its 3rd year in 2019 and already attracts over 7,500 people from all over Cheshire and the North West. Entertainment in the ‘Kidz Zone’ has included an impressive line-up of famous CBEEBIES personalities not forgetting a very impressive line up of headlining bands for us oldies!
I think it’s a great credit to the town that the festival founder Andy Kleek has invested so much time and money in creating such a wonderful event. Andy and Monopoly Events are very well known in the events industry as he also runs some of the UK’s most high profile Sci-Fi and Comi Con events, attracting a massive list of famous A list Hollywood actors to the UK.
Festival-goers will be able to enjoy several zones including the ‘Macc Rocks Main Arena’, ‘Kidz Zone’, ‘Giant Fun Fair’, ‘Dance Zone’ plus a host of fun activities for adults and children. There will also be some fabulous market stalls to pick up festival essentials and a tempting selection of hot and cold food stalls and a large Real Ale, Cider and Wine bar. Over the whole day, there’ll be over 100 artists performing rounded off by a stunning firework finale.
A few of the highlights for the music line up for this year include ‘Soul 11 Soul’ and ‘Heather Small’ the former singer of M people! Headlining in the Dance tent is the legendary Old Skool DJ ‘Stu Allen’ so get ready to get dancing! If you don’t want the night to end, then there’s an after-party! There’s so much going on, don’t forget to pick up your programme on entry!
The festival is for music lovers and families; the children won’t complain about being bored as there is so much to keep them entertained. Headlining the Kidz Zone stage are ‘Cook and Line’ from the hit C Beebies show ‘Swashbuckle’, ‘Little Fix’ the number 1 tribute band for Little Mix will be belting out hits and many more acts. There is a giant funfair, face painting, an inflatable zone, a ‘Super Hero’ show and a ‘Greatest Showman’ finale to name but a few!
With such a line-up of great bands and entertainment, you’d imagine paying festival prices for tickets but I was pleasantly surprised that prices have remained incredibly reasonable with a family of 4 (2 Adults and 2 Kids) costing around £71.50 or adult prices only £24.75 each!
I managed to speak to Andy despite him working tirelessly, arranging the final finishing touches to the festival. He wanted to say the following thank you message:
“Macclesfield Festival continues to be one of my favourite events. I wanted to create a unique festival for my home town which all my family and friends could enjoy. We’ve worked very hard to create a diverse mix of music for everyone as well as something extra special for kids. The biggest reward for me is delivering an event which brings families together and creates special memories. We wanted to say a big thank you for everyone that has supported the Macclesfield Festival so far and we’re looking forward to 2019 being the best yet!”
As a final note, I’d recommend a visit to their official website where you can read more about the full festival line up and purchase tickets online. It was wonderful to see some of the numerous reviews left for Andy and the Monopoly Events team on the website. Their comments speak volumes, here’s just a small selection:
“A well planned and executed event. Plenty of things to do for all ages, the children’s area was well thought out and a fantastic range of acts on and around the stage. The bar was big and plenty of staff on which meant waiting for a drink was minimal. Ample toilets with only a short queue to use them. The car parking set up was ideal and removed all traffic hold-ups in the surrounding road systems. Plenty of uniformed staff around if needed who were polite and helpful when spoken to. The bands were varied and great. For me, the highlight was the SKA Foundation, heard many a good thing from others and glad I finally saw them. Well done all involved and roll on next year” ANTHONY WILLIAM
“Absolutely fantastic family fun, brilliant for all ages – we ranged from 4 unto 37 and we all absolutely loved it! Can’t wait until next year already 🙂 Great work guys!!!” MATT O’BRIEN
